We had such a busy week last week. We went gardening and then wrote about the procedure of planting. We have been looking at length. We have been finding long and short objects, we measured things with cubes and with lollipop sticks. Then we measured each other with lollipop sticks to find out who was the tallest. We are looking at the theme of food (Bia) in Irish this month. We have been focusing on the three phrases “Is maith liom _______” (I like), “Ní maith liom ________” (I don’t like), and An maith leat _______? (Do you like ______?) On Friday all of the children in Senior Infants welcomed a very special visitor. Katie from the Road Safety Authority came to Citywest & Saggart CNS to talk to us about road safety. We listened to a story about a boy called Simon, we talked about how we can cross the road safely and then we sang our song about the Safe Cross Code. A fairy has moved into our classroom. His name is Toby and he leaves us messages. He even wrote a recount for us to read. It is so great to have a fairy’s home in our classroom, especially because we have been learning about different types of homes. We listened to the story of the three little pigs, we learned about different types of houses, different rooms and we designed our own room in a fairy house. Last week a construction site came to our classroom. Everyone had great fun drawing the plans and building the construction.
