Junior Infants School Tour and Teddy Bear Picnic

What an adventure the Junior Infants had on their first ever school tour to Imaginosity! They loved getting the big bus with their friends, and counting down the minutes (literally) until they arrived. They had a picnic outside Imaginosity before they went in, to give them lots of energy for playing, and play they did! They started on the top level in the garden with the sleeping badger- zzZZZ! Then they climbed the tunnel, went into the house, used diggers to build and break down walls, and played with the dolls houses and pattern blocks. Next they made their way to the recording studio where they played dress up and read the news on a REAL telly! On the first floor they went shopping for food in the supermarket, served it up in the diner, played doctor in the surgery, and raced lots of very fast cars!              The Junior Infants had so much fun, and made their teachers and parents very proud by playing nicely, sharing with eachother, and by being very respectful and cleaning up before they went home. To reward them, and celebrate all of their learning this year, the Junior Infants had a teddy bear’s picnic on the yard and you can see more photos of them  right here. Well done Junior Infants – you’re going to be super Senior Infants next year 🙂...

Junior Infants: Summer Nature Walk

Summer is finally here and the Junior Infants have been learning all about the summer season through their five senses- sight, smell, touch, hearing, and taste. To celebrate their learning, they went on a nature hunt to the local park to look out for all the signs of summer. They completed a ‘signs of summer’ check list, played parachute games with their friends, and chilled out in the playground afterwards. Summer sure is fun! Can you see spot the signs of summer in their...

Junior Infants Rooms 1, 2, 5: Junior Fire Fighters!

The Junior Infants have been learning all about their local community- the people and place where they live. They loved singing their community song; ask them what job they would like to have when they grow up! As part of their learning, they were super lucky to have two local Fire Fighters, Alan and Carl, visit them last week, to tell them all about their jobs, and to teach them about fire safety. They gave the JI’s three simple rules to stay safe if they see or smell a fire: Get out Stay out Get the fire brigade out  (remember to call 112, or 999) They also gave them a special Fire Safety pack to bring home to talk to their parents about, and the Infants sang them their 1o Little Fire Fighters song to say thank you! A huge thanks again to  Carl and Alan from the Dublin Fire Brigade for coming out and training our Junior Fire Fighters 🙂 To see the CSCNS Fire Fighters all ready to go in their special protective gear please click...

Junior Infants Rooms 1, 2 and 5 : Science Week

This week is Science Week in our school. Junior Infants had a very special team of scientists that came to do some fun experiments with us. Dr David Fitzpatrick from the National University of Ireland in Maynooth and his scientists visited us on Wednesday for a wonderful workshop. We got ready for the occasion and donned our laboratory coats and goggles! We grew bacteria in petri dishes, made our very own static electricity and even saw the scientists make ELEPHANT TOOTHPASTE!! For more photos please see here.    ...
