Welcome to Citywest & Saggart CNS
“Our vision for Citywest & Saggart CNS is to create an educational environment that strives for the highest possible standards, academically and in all other aspects of school life. In order to achieve this, each member of the school community will be encouraged to utilise their gifts and talents for the benefit of our children. Teachers, in partnership with parents and the wider community of Citywest & Saggart CNS, will endeavour to instil in our pupils both a love of learning and a deep sense of respect for others”

Citywest & Saggart Community National School is a co-educational school that started off with Junior Infants in September 2012. It is a vertical school and it will have 6th class for the first time in 2019.
It provides a child-centred education through which the holistic development of the child is paramount. In parallel with the educationally sound principles of our national curriculum, Citywest & Saggart CNS delivers the ‘Goodness Me! Goodness You!’ Religious Education programme.
This programme is unique to Community National Schools. It is a multi-belief programme that caters for children of all beliefs and none. It is story-based and encourages each child to reflect on their own experiences of the world.
Citywest & Saggart Community National School aims to place itself at the heart of the local community. Inclusivity and celebration of diversity will be at the core of the school’s ethos. Recognising and acknowledging our similarities and celebrating our uniqueness meaningfully, paves the way for a thriving learning community. It is our hope that children and parents of all ethnic and religious backgrounds will feel equally valued and respected. Citywest & Saggart CNS prides itself on using the latest teaching methodolgies, innovative pedagogical practices and a child centred approach to teaching. Below are a few examples of the active, hands on and meaningful learning that the children engage in.
