External After-School Clubs
We are very fortunate to be able to facilitate many community led after school clubs in our school. We hope that we can continue with these and many other external clubs into the future.
Our teachers also run after school clubs which are detailed each term. Below are details of the clubs that currently run in our school. Please note that these are privately run and should be contacted directly with enquiries.
Science Club
Anyone 4 Science, provides fun hands-on science engineering and maths activities in your child’s school.
Once a week our teacher meets the children from their class teacher at the end of the school day and takes them back into a classroom in the school for a science lesson involving a hands on activity.
We follow a curriculum that we have developed over many years and which we repeat on a three yearly cycle. Our lessons are age appropriate but based on topics that are usually taught at 2nd or 3rd level. We cover 2 topics per term and over each year have a range of biology, chemistry and physics.
Our teachers are all garda vetted and have science, engineering or maths qualifications.
In Citywest & Saggart CNS science takes place on a
Thursday.
Time: 1:40 pm for Junior and Senior Infants
2:40 pm for children from 1st – 6th Class
This term is 13 weeks starting on September 19th and

The Players Junior Drama Workshops
Do you want your child to be confident and to be able to express themselves freely? While developing new skills, working together, learning stagecraft, chatting together in a space with people who are just like you, devising and designing your own creative performances?
Our Players Junior (Junior and Senior Infants) Our weekly drama workshops are laying the foundation for Drama, Arts, and Creativity. We use the scenarios that your child is familiar with to hone these skills. We use drama, theatre, storytelling, rhyme, and imaginative play to take them on a journey of self-expression and creative exploration through engaging play.
Players Senior (1st – 6th class) Our weekly drama workshop are where you learn the craft of theatre, movie-making, drama, and drama techniques.Working with you we devise, discuss and develop improvs, plays, and shows, on topics that interest you and allow you to explore what’s going on in the world and your part within it. The Players Studio is an intermediate drama programme and part of the PlayAct Academy.

Creative Keyboards
We are now enrolling for our classes to start in September 2024!
Below are some details about the classes:
- Classes run from Thursday the 19th of September, 2024 as an afterschool activity in Citywest and Saggart Community NS.
- Fee €140 for 10
- There is a keyboard supplied for each pupil in class
- Each child will be given a music book with the course material for the school year
- Students learn music from Grade 1 to Grade 8 level
- A section of each class is dedicated to playing hits and favourite tunes
- The classes are grouped according to age and standard

- We are certified by ‘The Victoria College of Music, London’ who examine the children (optional) from First to Sixth class annually.
