Welcome to Citywest & Saggart CNS
“The vision of Citywest & Saggart CNS is to create a safe, calm, respectful and inclusive learning environment in which the school community works in close partnership to encourage children to develop skills which will allow them to participate to their full potential in school and society. We strive for the highest quality teaching and learning while fostering the holistic development of the individual child. Our school recognises and celebrates the individual abilities, talents and achievements of the children whilst also instilling a sense of belonging, respect and empathy towards those around them.”
Citywest & Saggart Community National School is a state, co-educational, multi-denominational school under the patronage of Dublin and Dun Laoighaire Education and Training Board. It opened its doors in 2012 and has grown ever since to become an innovative and vibrant learning environment. Our school caters for all children from infants to 6th class and will welcome the two classes of children with Autism in 2020.
It gives me great pleasure to welcome all of the children, parents and wider community through our doors on a daily basis. We are very lucky to have a highly dedicated, hard working and enthusiastic staff in Citywest & Saggart CNS as well as an active wider school community.
In living out our school’s vision and values, the staff of our school, in strong partnership with parents and community members, employ active, innovative and inclusive practices to ensure all children have equal opportunities to succeed. It is the policy and practice of Community National Schools to recognise and celebrate the uniqueness of the child but also to instill a deep sense of belonging, empathy and respect of others.
My hope for the children in our school is that they will leave us with the skills, knowledge and experiences that will help them to fully participate as an active citizen in society. When the time comes, I also hope each child will leave Citywest & Saggart CNS in 6th class with life long friendships and the happiest of memories of their time with us.
Mr. Mike Byrne, Principal
