Senior Infants Room 7: Making Butter

Senior Infants have been learning all about the farm. We can tell you some of the places farm animals live (like a stable, pig sty or chicken coop) and the names of baby farm animals (calf, lamb, foal, chick, piglet).

We have been learning about what farming was like many years ago …and we have discovered it was very difficult! The farmers had to milk the cows by hand and plough the fields themselves. They even made their own milk and butter.

To see what this would be like we decided to make our own butter. After tasting it on crackers we decided that it tasted……YUM!

Check out the pictures to see what we did.
