Room 7 have been busy bees learning all about the Post Office this month. We have learned about the people who work in the Post Office and we have been using lots of new vocabulary in the role-play centre like parcel, letter, stamp, envelope, first class, air mail, cashier, address and postman. We have learned to weigh parcels and letters to ensure the correct stamp is given and we learned a new rhyme called ‘The Postman’!

In addition, we have really enjoyed reading a story about the Jolly Postman. The Jolly Postman had a busy job delivering letters to lots of our favourite story characters – Cinderella, Goldilocks, the Big Bad Wolf and Little Red Riding Hood.

We liked this story so much that we decided to write our own letters and postcards. Then we were lucky enough to get the chance to visit the Post Office in Citywest Shopping Centre to post the letters we carefully wrote. We can’t wait until they arrive! Have a look at some pictures we took here.
