In Room 3 we use a website called GoNoodle to take brain breaks throughout the day. Every time a group is working hard, helping each other, tidying up well, or displaying some other type of good behaviour, they get a marble in their jar on the teacher’s desk. When a group gets 10 marbles they are allowed to pick a video from GoNoodle for the whole class to exercise to. This exercise could be dancing, running on the spot, zumba, yoga or lots more. They get an opportunity to get their bodies moving and give their hard working brains a little break. Today in Room 3, we maxed-out our mascot, Flappy Tuckler, because we have been taking so many brain breaks (and working very hard!). We picked a new mascot called Tiny O’Flexem by majority vote. Over the last 4 weeks, parents have been coming in to Room 4 for one hour each week, to play maths games with us. We had great fun playing lots and lots of different games. Room 4 would like to sincerely thank all the parents who came in each week to play the maths games with us. We all learned a huge amount from it. first Class had the company of Val, Lia, Seja and Mariam for Maths 4 Fun today. We played some maths games that Ms Doherty made for us. They really were lots of fun. Thank you so much to all of the parents who helped out this week. We had a great time playing all of our Maths games. We especially enjoyed Monster Bingo where we practised naming our shapes and colours and the Treasure Hunt game. Sometimes we get extra coins when we take them from other players and sometimes a monkey steals our coins and we have to put some coins back into the treasure chest! Room 4 visited the Post Office yesterday in the Citywest Shopping Centre. The children all posted letters to their parents to thank them for taking such good care of us. We were then brought down to the control room to look at the security cameras. We could see all over the shopping centre, both inside and outside. Anyone who tried to steal anything would definitely have been caught with all of Room 4 watching very carefully! We had great fun and really enjoyed the day.
