Senior Infants Room 4: Special Visitors

The children in Room 4 were very excited about the special visitors that came to our classroom on Wednesday. We were very lucky to welcome several grandparents as part of our Grandparent’s Day celebrations.  We had written some questions to ask the grandparents – we asked them what they ate for lunch in school, did they have computers, what was their teacher’s name and did they have lettuce when they were small. It was lovely to see the bridging of generations in the classroom. We sang an Irish song and said a poem for all of the grandparents at the end of their visit. We hope they enjoyed the morning as much as we did! A very big thank you to all of our visiting grandparents.   Please click here to see some more...

We hope the grandparents who couldn’t make it enjoyed the day...

They particularly loved when we sang Yellow Submarine by the Beatles, they remembered it being played on the radio when they were growing up. HURRAY TO GRANDPARENTS! click here to view more...

Junior Infants Room 1: Oral Language Lesson

This week children have been working really hard using the academic language linked to the ‘Garden Centre’ during our oral language lessons. Children have had opportunities to act in role as the cashier and customer, to meet and greet each other  and to buy a range of goods from the Garden Centre to include plants, soil, watering cans and flowers! Mrs Swan was really impressed with how well the children worked together and acted in role. She was also delighted with how much academic language Room 1 has acquired during our topic linked to the Garden Centre!     For more photos from our oral language lesson please click...
