We had a great day on Friday celebrating Lá Glas with all the children and parents from Room 6. It was really enjoyable singing our songs from Bua na Cainte and performing ‘The Walls of Limerick’ in front of a great crowd. We each made a leprechaun hat and sang the song ‘An Leipreachán’. Does anyone know what a mechanical engineer does? The children in Senior Infants could tell you. Last week Michael and Alan visited the school to tell us all about the different things that a mechanical engineer does. They spoke to us about robots, jets, roller coasters and cars. We learnt that mechanical engineers work in lots of different places including racing tracks, factories and offices. Mechanical engineers have helped to make some of the most amazing projects in the world like the Eiffel Tower in Paris, the world’s tallest building in Dubai and the world’s fastest roller coaster in New Jersey.
