Principal: Christmas Time!

It is so hard to believe that we are coming up to Christmas already. This is a very special time of year for many of our families. I would like to wish everybody celebrating this festival a very happy Christmas. I would also like to wish you all the very best for the new year ahead. Many thanks to John our caretaker and his daughter for decorating the tree in the foyer so beautifully. And a very special thank you to Mr. Kinsella and the children in First Class for their wonderful Christmas display. We will be adding our Christmas crib to our foyer very soon. If you would like to find out more about how Christmas is celebrated, you can find out...

Principal: Information Meeting for Prospective Parents

We will be holding a meeting for parents who are interested in sending their children to Citywest & Saggart CNS in September 2015 on Thursday, 15th January at 8 p.m. This will be an opportunity for parents to learn more about Citywest & Saggart CNS and to have a look around our beautiful school. The deadline for applications is January 31st so please be sure to have your application in, along with your child’s original birth certificate by this date. Already there are far more applications than places for next year so please read our enrolment policy on the website. Members of the Parent Association will be there also serving tea and coffee so it is a great opportunity to talk with other parents who already have children in the school. We look forward to meeting with you then....

Senior Infants Room 5: A Special Visitor

During Science Week Room 5 welcomed a very special visitor. David the scientist showed us some animal skulls and we had to try and guess the animal.  We saw a cat’s skull, a horse’s skull and even a turtle’s skull! We conducted our own experiments and discovered that there is sugar in bread but no sugar in eggs. We are very grateful to David for letting us wear lab coats and talking to us about science. Please click here to see some more photos of our very exciting...

Principal: Bake and Cake Sale

Many thanks to all the parents who brought in lovely treats today! The foyer has never smelled so good with all the sumptuous aromas! It has been a full time job today keeping the teachers (including myself!)  away from them! There are also some great bargains on books on offer today too. We hope that many of you purchase a treat on your way home for the holidays! All money will go towards school resources. Bon appetite!...

Principal: Happy Diwali!

Principal: Good Morning!

Good morning, everyone! At the Junior Infant assembly on Friday, we spoke about how important it is to say “Good Morning, Mr. Conboy” when they meet me at the school gate each morning. Please practise this with your child as you would be surprised how difficult some  children find stopping to look at someone and say “Good Morning!”.     I am delighted with the impact the new drop-off service Citywest ET is running and the impact it is having on the overall traffic in the car park. I heard a lot of positive comments from parents this morning who said that the car park was a lot less busy this morning. Well done to the volunteer parents in both schools for helping to make the school-run as easy as possible for...
