Principal: Award Winning Teacher

Hi all I would like to congratulate Ms. Alison Larkin on recently being presented with the Vera Foster Medal for getting the highest marks on Teaching Practice in her final year in Maynooth University. She is not our first teacher to win such an award. Ms. Whyte was presented with the same award from Dublin City University in her final year also. We are so lucky to have such a talented, intelligent and gifted team of teachers in the school. We really hope to continue to attract the very best into the future. Our ethos, which puts excellence in teaching and learning and equality to the fore, seems to really attract the best there is. Some good news on a rainy day! Séamus...

Have a listen to the rhyme we learned “An maith leat cáis?” (Do you like cheese?)   We also played shop through Irish and welcomed the medical center into our room. She was also very kind to give each of us a high vis vest which we can wear when we are out and about with our family and friends. Thanks so much for visiting us, Katie! For more pictures, click...

Principal: Restorative Practices for Parents

Hi all What a quick half-term! I am absolutely delighted with how everyone has settled in so far. Our Junior Infants are all great at coming into school now! Don’t be surprised if the mid-term break sets them back a little bit when we return. They may forget how much they love school and there may be a few tears (from the teachers too!). I am delighted to let you know about a new course for the adults in our school community on Restorative Practices. The staff has received some training on this and have found it fantastic! It focuses on the importance of building good relationships with children and it can really make a difference to parents, teachers and children who may be struggling a little bit with behaviour management. I would encourage any parent to get involved. The course starts on Monday, 9th November from 9-11 a.m. and runs for 6 weeks. As usual, the course is open to any members of our community and is free of charge. If you would like to enrol on the course you can: call Karen on 014133080 email scoilniamhcns@ddletb.ie send a message via the ‘Citywest & Saggart CNS’ app Places are limited and will be given on a first come, first served basis. Enjoy the break! Séamus...
